The incumbent supervises a large staff and MWR operation, as well as overseeing the efficient and effective operation of a large and dynamic Bowling Center open seven days a week, which includes 24 lanes, equipment maintenance and repair, facilities, billiards/game area, bar, and busy Caf?.

Responsibilities
Ensures all MWR programs in area of responsibility provide the highest levels of customer service.
Promotes, schedules, and manages all components of this multi-faceted operation, including supporting multiple leagues, tournaments, matches, special events, bowling lessons, and programs.
Oversight of all financial operations, including developing and adhering to a budget, purchasing supplies, equipment, and resale merchandise for all assigned program components, managing food and program costs, and developing menus.
Develops marketing plan, plans special events, and applies expert analysis to increase utilization, develop and monitor innovative programs, and increase utilization.
Liaises with Leagues, markets products and events, purchases and ensures maintenance of bowling equipment and accessories, etc.
Responsible for acting on internal and patron problems with minimal adverse impact on functional programs.
Plans, organizes work and manages internal resources to ensure maximum productivity and meet or exceed business, program, inspection, and budget goals of all assigned business activities.
Prepares financial plan, budgets, inventories, cost controls, and related records and reports. Reviews the financial status of the assigned activity and recommends changes as necessary.
Through subordinate supervisors, manages activity employees. Hires, trains, schedules work, appraises performance, counsels assigned personnel, and recommends personnel actions.
Effectively supports the Navy Equal Employment Opportunity policy, and ensures compliance with fire safety, security, and other environmental issues.
Manages new property resources and provides advice on renovations and improvements.
Maintains and enforces security for funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste, and abuse.
Supervises caf? and bar operations, must be alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

A minimum of five years supervisory experience preferred
Demonstrated experience in supervising recreation and food and beverage operations preferred
A minimum of four years experience progressively responsible professional, technical work involving knowledge and application of bowling, bowling equipment and facilities, and recreational activities
Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures preferred
Must demonstrate ability to deal effectively with subordinates, supervisory and management officials and patrons
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English
Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.

Qualifications
The incumbent ensures all operations in Sea 'N Air Lanes meet policy, accreditation, and budget standards, as well as supervising a customer-focused operation. Supervises additional MWR Business Activity functions as needed. Able to run a large facility with multitude of components. Ensures all MWR programs in area of responsibility provide the highest levels of customer service.
Education
Associates Degree in Management, Hospitality, Recreation or related field OR 3 years related experience



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
