Guest Service Agent

Summary:


To assist our guests efficiently, courteously and professionally in all Front Office related functions.


What will I be doing?


As a Guest Service Agent, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:



  • Check-in and checkout procedures

  • Handle cash and credit cards, foreign exchange, travel voucher/traveler's checks, post charges and adjustments through cashiering.

  • Provide proactive and effective hospitality while being gracious.

  • Can do attitude with a smile

  • Be able to trouble shoot guest's problems

  • Take guest messages.

  • Take room reservations

  • Pre-register groups as required.

  • Be well versed in all operating hours of hotel outlets.

  • Assist in storage, handling, and tagging of baggage.

  • Assist guests with outside venues, reservations, and inquires

  • Control guest room keys

  • Assist manager/supervisor as needed.

  • Register guests and assign rooms, accommodate special requests whenever possible. Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary.

  • Follow checklists set up by management and supervisors

  • Stay up-to-date on room rates, packages; help promote special packages, discounts. Know all room rates

  • Develop a working knowledge of Concierge and Reservations.

  • Know all safety and emergency procedures and how to act upon them.

  • Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the Front Desk area

  • Adhere to department and hotel rules and standards

  • Maintain a working knowledge of the hotel's property management system.

  • Remain calm, courteous and friendly at all times.

  • All other tasks as assigned by manager

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
